Welcome to KAIDANworld

Here you will find an ever-growing collection of KAIDAN: short Japanese tales of horror where the storyteller recalls a personal experience in which they encountered something paranormal. The encounters can range from subtle, like noticing an object is in an inexplicable location, to overt, like interacting with a spirit of the dead. In English these are traditionally known as ghost stories, and in the digital age we have the similar "creepypasta".

KAIDANworld has launched with a handful of short stories by Nishiurawa which I have translated. It will gradually expand to include stories from other sources.
